Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence

Students are expected to act in accordance with the principles of academic integrity in all coursework, assignments, reports, projects, presentations, exams, and other assessment activities. The use of ideas, expressions, data, visuals, solutions, code, or similar content belonging to others without proper citation is considered a violation of academic integrity. Artificial intelligence tools may be used only as auxiliary tools to support learning, such as reviewing topics, explaining concepts, developing ideas, checking writing and language, creating a study plan, or receiving feedback on a draft. However, content generated by artificial intelligence may not be submitted directly as the student’s own work. The student is personally responsible for the content, accuracy, and originality of the work they submit. If artificial intelligence has been used, the purpose and scope of its use must be clearly stated. Unless otherwise specified by the instructor, the use of artificial intelligence tools is prohibited in exams, quizzes, and assessments that must be completed individually. If a violation of academic integrity or unauthorized use of artificial intelligence is detected, the relevant higher education institution’s regulations, disciplinary provisions, and course assessment rules shall apply.
