History

The Faculty of Tourism at Antalya Bilim University was established in 2010 and admitted its first students in the 2012–2013 academic year for the Tourism Management programme and in the 2017–2018 academic year for the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts programme.

Our Faculty, which offers a 100 per cent English-medium programme, provides students with fundamental theoretical knowledge in the fields of Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts during their first year of undergraduate study. Furthermore, during the summer terms of their second and third years, students participate in work placement programmes totalling 120 days, thereby putting their theoretical knowledge into practice. In addition, our students have the option to participate in the Cooperative Education (ICE) programme, which allows them to spend their final year working entirely within the industry, or in the Management Shadowing programme, which is equivalent to a 15-credit course over one term.

The tourism sector continues to grow both globally and in our country, thanks to its dynamic structure, constantly evolving nature and significant economic contribution. In this context, our faculty aims to train qualified individuals with a high level of intellectual capital who can analyse the current situation and develop strategic plans for the future, meeting the needs not only of the sector but also of public and educational institutions. Graduates of our faculty have the opportunity to secure employment in tourism and hotel businesses, as well as in food and beverage establishments, in line with the skills they have acquired and their career aspirations.
